RETIRED
For those of you who haven't seen the other threads, Bob aka Xaero3953 passed away early in the morning on feb 28th as a result of fighting cancer and heart problems among other things.

I think it would be nice for all of us to join in and pitch a couple bucks over for the purchase of a funeral memorial.... be it a wreath, flowers, dontation to cancer society, etc.

I haven't been able to get a hold of Jamie. She's our only connection at this point. I have left her a message to call me so hopefully I can learn more about the situation, and figure out more details about the funeral and where to send the donation too. Heck, I don't even know Bob's last name. But what I do know is that he was great to have around here, and he will be greatly missed. Having something for the wake/funeral from all of us hopefully will touch his family the way that he touched all of us here at the HondaSwap family.

For the time being, please send all funds to me via paypal. Please put in the subject "in memory of Bob" or something to that extent so I can keep track of the money coming in.
$3-$5 should do it. Don't feel obligated to send more, but I won't stop you. If we get 20 people in on this, which i think we will be able to with no problem, we can purchase/ship a decent arrangement for the ceremonies.

I will start the fund with my donation of $50. I'll even eat the paypal fees so the full amount you donate goes towards the fund.

If for some reason we can't get this together in time because we don't know where to send it, all funds will be donated to the American Cancer Society, or another national non-profit of the sort, In his memory.

Bob was a very devout Christian, so i think this would make for a good arrangement:

I'm open to any other ideas you may have though.

well just transfred fund to paypal so as it clears it will be sent

may his soul be at rest and basking in the glory of heaven; R.I.P. Bob

Wow! huge turn out so far. I'm shocked at how much we raised so far. We're going to have way too much money to just buy a flower decoration. We need to come up with some ideas on how to best-spend the rest.

Several of you were also concerned that their E-checks wouldn't clear in time. Don't worry about it, i'll front it.

In addition, a couple ideas came over the paypal message---

-Smaller arrangement, donation in his name to XYZ charity
-Smaller arrangement, remaining funds to the family to help with final expenses
-Attaching a prayer to the arrangement by one of our members who is also a devote Christian

I, personally, like the free-standing display. The smaller ones simply get lost on the table.... but the big stand STANDS OUT and shows our respect.
I wish we could all sign it, but obviosuly that is simply not feasable.

Again, i'm all ears for ideas you guys may have, so throw them out there.

17 donations as of this writing (amounts withheld. no matter how much you sent, or how little, it is all the same in my book. some people can afford more than others)
