The only real time to be worried about polyvinyl chloride is when it's set on fire. That's why fire code requires plenum jackets for all cable not running through a conduit.

Since I do not plan on lighting my consoles ablaze, I need not worry.

Beryllium is used in most electronics, its in your cell phones, cars, home theater systems, the new space telescope, etc. It's a metal with a tinsel strength stronger than steel with 1/8 the weight.

Did you know cars have gasoline, I hear it's expensive and dangerous. Older houses have mercury thermometers. If you mix ammonia and bleach you can die. If your kid licks the electrical outlet you might have to cut off his tongue. :eek:
