beyond the obvious alarm system what else can i dont to protect myself from gettin jacked?
i oark in a garage at my house but im worried about the other places. ive seen prople talkin about wheel locks. where do you find a kill switch for your ecu?
you just have to make a kill switch, find the power line going to the ecu and put a toggle in it. but keep in mind this will reset the ecu every time you do it.
i found this HONDA CIVIC / DEL SOL 1995-01 KILL SWITCH :eBay Motors (item 200327888688 end time Nov-29-09 19:31:28 PST)
and is that bad for the ecu? what would resetting it do?
Lol. $20 for a $1 switch, and $2 worth of wire.
lol for real just make your own man, and im perty sure it wont hurt it.
i plan on making my own i was just wondering if that was what you were telling me to make! that looked like an old used switch to! wtf
i went to school with a guy who had a Ls integra but had wheels and the wing and badged to simulate the TypeR, he had 2 kill switches, one under the seat and one beside the under dash fuse box. its a reall smart idea since Eg civic are like THE MOST stolen car of all time.
My man get ravelco, kill switches, wheel locks, alpha locks then chain some pitbulls to it and have a few hiding under the seats on the inside....that should do it
If you have an alarm system properly installed, with a starter disable, and the thief is determined enough to get into the car, disable the alarm, and bypass that starter disable, he is going to take your car pretty much no matter what you do to it.
Besides, in most cases(no, not all) they just trailer it anyways.
I have heard of the shock sensors working really well too. They read the level of the shocks and if any movement is sensed when the alarm is set, then it sets off an alarm.
I really kind of doubt that he actually had legit Type R wheels, since you'd have to a 5 lug conversion to make them fit...
Get a quick release steering wheel and the steering lock to lock it after you take it off woill help a little
Tow truck, nuff said. Little things might stop the would be thief, but if they want it they will get it.
Yeah true that if they want it they will take it...that's the risk u have to take for havin a sick ass car !!
yea i miss spoke, the wheels were 15's black with a chrome lip, but i meant he had the the side decals and the wing. what i was trying to say was it was a super clean car
Seriously, most alarms, etc. are useless against a tow truck. Earlier this year we had a lot of jackings in the mid-western part of the state, and at least half had alarms/kill switches, etc. Hell, I personally know two people who had their non-running cars stolen!
Ravelco's only flaw is that it is intertwined into the whole system. Well not really a flaw, but a drawback to tuners. If you have their system, you don't need kill switches. Their system is the ultimate kill switch. Add some wheel locks to the equation and I'd say you're as safe as you're going to be.
what draw back is there for a tuner? on the ravelcos website they claim the have never had one of theyre systems bypassed. and never had a car stolen due to the bypassing of theyre system
