Door ajar warning indicator

I have an 89 Prelude 2.0 Si Automatic trans with front steering only. The door ajar indicator on the dash above the speedometer stays on when the outside temperature is above 80F. Ussually in the morning it is O K, going off when both doors are closed but, in the afternoon after work the light stays on. It will flicker when the passenger door is opened and then closed. Anybody got any ideas?

Door switch

I would check your door switch and wire harness. Maybe lose.

Checked both door switches, swapped them and checked the wiring as far in as I can get - no help. Light also seems to go out under heavy acceleratiion, then comes right back on. I'm wondering if it's a relay contact, a bad connection or regulator behind the instrument cluster?
