i think its an evap sensor. i dont remember the exact name..

if your map is beside the fuel filter mounted on the FIREWALL, thats the stock map for lx/dx
if you swapped it out and put in a ex/si engine, the firewall mounted map will not work, its on top of the throttle body.

I assume this is in an EF?
The map on the throttle body is the one you want to use. There is also a purge cut off solenoid valve mounted on the firewall next to the factory map sensor.. That might be the thing you are trying to identify.. little round cylinder shaped thing with 2 vacuum hoses on it? One runs to the IM and the other to the charcoal canister?
If not an EF, what car are we talking about here? You have any pics?
