being born in the northwest made it cool or uncool?

i was born in pittsburgh, grew up and currently live in NW indiana.

all i can say is, grunge sucks. so does screaming. like atreyu. no talent garbage.... ..IMO.

hmm, moldable teen years? i guess i never changed. i listened to the offspring, green day, nirvana, master p, 504 boys, (basicly normal rock and rap) when i was 12. and i still listen to the same stuff now, just expanded...

I grew up in oregon, was 12 in 1992, and I've always hated grunge. Grunge is like punk, no musical ability at all. Go back and listen to Nirvana's Unplugged album, chord muting like a mutha fucka from start to finish

being born in the northwest made grunge cool. it's like being born in New York and liking the yankees or knicks. just part of being here. and how do you say grunge sucks when you listened to nirvana and offspring? or are you defining it as grunge/alternative rock
what is chord muting? i thought that was a phenomenal album.

i'm horible at defining genre's. i basicly look at it as, normal rock, soft rock, metal, then grunge/screaming. so maybe i suppose your right. i just put the offspring, green day, nirvana, alien ant farm, switchfoot, tenacious D, loser, weezer, tool, all in normal rock. sorry :p

I'll listen to anything that's not Hansen or Backstreet boys, stuff like that.

I've been more into acid jazz and trance type stuff lately though.

I refuse to call it palm muting, that makes no fucking sense, your palm is on the neck, your fingers are misplaced muting the strings

I listen to everything. I have my phases, right now I'm listening to more hip hop. Next week I'll be listening to punk and classic rock. I even listen to Justin Timberlake and B2K.

I appreciate all types of music. GnR was never one of my favorites but they have a couple of songs I could listen to over and over.

You palm mute with your picking hand. How can you be such a guitar snob and not know this?
