I need to buy some drag tires for my crx. I dont plan to use them for daily driving, just drag racing.

I'm thinking the falken azenus or goodyear drag radial TA. Any suggestions.

azenis SUCK for drag racing
they are meant for cornereing
their sidewall is WAY too hard to be a good drag tire

get a set of drag dradials
the BF goodrich ones are supposed to be pretty good

if you're just going drag racing on them, get some real slicks.

15x8x22 fit on just about every 15" wheel honda makes from the factory/rotas, and so on...

or, you can get some drag wheels too.

but, if you want a drag tire, the azenis is NOT a drag tire.

the BFG drag radial is good too, but a true slick will make you faster.

what power level are you putting out, and what transmission are you running? power level drastically effects what size slick to use.

could you list the differences? b :hide:

this is a whole article in and of it self....

As you know, tire size effects your final drive gear down. Basically, a HUGE tire will make your gearing SUPER long, and a smaller tire will gear you up, and your gearing gets tighter, but your max speed per gear is reduced.

on top of that, there's traction, and weight.

if you throw 26" slicks on a stock cx, you will go slower than the car would stock.
thro those same 26" slicks on a 200 whp cx, and you will STILL be slower.

but if you throw a set or 22's on a 200 whp car, will be be ideal.

but then, you have the 15" wheel...

so, if you need more tire, you need the 13" wheel, to keep the 22" outside diam, but still reap the benefits of a a taller side wall tire.

thats the basics... i could get a whole deal.... into it... but... im lazy.

i have a first gen b16a, without a LSD transmission.....

Upgrages for now are just a AEM hybrid cold air intake, Vibrant race header, 2.25 inch exhaust..... Must have about 165-170 BHP I guess

What type of slicks would i use for that, or would they slow me down?

you're probably putting 140-145 to the wheels.

for that, the 15x8x22's a mentioned would suit you well. just pick up some 99-00 si rims, or gsr baldes, or a pair of rotas or something to mount them on.

Thanks for the help... I'm going to get some BF Goodrich Drag Radials so that I can still enter the street class.
