if it's an Si it will have a sun/moon roof and multiport fuel injection, if it's a dx it'll only be dual point fuel injection, if it's an hf it'll have multiport fuel injection and no moon roof. well at least this holds true for 90-91. The Si will also have the letter CRX embossed in the door panels. the Si is a 1.6 ltr, the dx is a 1.5 ltr.

    from the refernce material
    88-91 CRX - Standard & HF ED8, Si ED9

    the crx's were either hf,dx,si

I don't know of any crx with a moonroof that's not an si, except for some that were dealer equipped with a pop-up glass sunroof, not a moon roof like the si

The DX has DPFI 1.5 liter (d15b2)
The HF has MPFI 1.5 liter (d15b6)
The Si is also MPFI 1.6 liter (d16a6)

Or even easier look at the gauge cluster, If its a 5000rpm redline its an HF. An Si's redline is 6500rpm.

How does the intake manifold look on the motor?

If it has a circular black box looking thing where the intake tube enters its a DX for sure.

Search the VIN #, it should tell you on there wether its an Si, DX or HF.
If its a HF your in great luck cause that shit is ==LIGHT LIGHT LIGHT==

Yeah most likely a DX, 100lbs. can make a big difference at the track.

ya but hell, my race seats and strong ass seat brackets added a good 20 pounds, took out a good 30 with the spare tire and all the junk in the rear, lost the rear wiper/motor and lost about 10 pounds, but my cage is goin to add a bit :(
