I have a ZC I am putting my '90 Hatch. I currently have a decent automatic tranny in it that shifts nice and firm. I don't want to go throughthe pedals, linkage etc. I understand my tranny will bolt up, but I was wondering what to do with the ECU ?

    1. Can I re-chip mine effectively? Most everything mentions 5 speed.

    2. What are repercutions if any on using a 5 speed Si ECU?

    Any input is appreciated!

get 89 integra ECU for automatic transmission - you can get one for about $50 - check on www.car-part.com - should be several there.

yeah or a 90-91 integ should work. you can't use a man. ECU, it doesn't know to shift the trans.

    Thanks for the info!

The search is on for an Integra ECU.

After a little digging (Search function Doh!) it appears that the 88-89 Integra ecu's will work for my auto.

I searched for this info, but could not get an exact answer:

    1. What model can I use to get the injector resistor box off of to work with my ZC in a 90 Hatch with an '88 Integra ECU? (Can I get the injector resistor box off the 88 Integra?)

Glad this board is here. What a help!

dont get a 86-91 CRX ECU, or a 90-91 integra ecu, they will work but the fuel mapping is WAY off for ur engine, and its a bad choice. the 89 integra is the only 1 to go with b/c it is very close to the stock JDM ZC ecu, anything else will just make your car run slower, and worse.

just curious, why would the 90-91 integ ECU be bad? I've always wondered why nobody used it. the ZC and the LS motors arn't that different, power wise.

The 90-91 uses a different engine, the b18. The 88-89 ecu is for a d16 motor which is very close to the zc engine. The b series is a whole different animal and the fuel maps are different.

I knew the motors where different. has anybody tried using the 90-91 ECU? Do you know that it won't work? I'm not trying to be a rude, I was just wondering if anybody knows that it won't work. just because ones a 1.6 and the others a 1.8 dosen't really mean anything. they both have about the same amount of power, I'd think they would both need the same amount of fuel/air. So has anybody actually proven it doesn't work good?

What is the rev limiter on the 90 to 91 ecu, like 6500. That wouldnt be high enough for a zc, which doesnt make powertil 6800.

It would run the engine. It will not have the right fuel and timing, its not necessarily the .2 liter difference in displacement. It is best to have an ecu that was designed to work with the engine.
The only way to tell if it makes a difference is to run both ecus for several runs at the track and see which is better.

The ZC is on the way from Ontario, got the injector box coming in from ebay for cheap tonight. Have four 88/89 integra auto ecu's located and should have one on the way by friday.

My plan is to keep this as my daily beater with the ZC and my DX auto. I have a header and will install complete exhaust and cold air intake during install. I may eventually install the 5 speed, but doubt it.

Next step after install is some decent tires / wheels.

I just love the looks of the 90 era hatchback, it doubles as a small 30 mpg pickup for me!

I just have a quick question, would I need a jumper harness for an ecu from that 89 integra to go with my zc swap on my 93 eg?

if you plan to run the ZC as OBD0 with OBD0 ECU, then you would need the ECU jumper from OBD1 to OBD0 - i don't know of anyone currently making said jumper

is the ZC OBD0? - if so, why not convert it to OBD1 and use OBD1 ECU
