Eg D15-d16z6 Swap?

Can i temporarly use my ecu from my d15 to operate the d16z6?
i know vtec wont be working but will it run and drive ok?

any idea if it'll drive and operate reliably for a couple of weeks or should i just hold off and get a p28?
my d15 is burning oil (thats my only rush)
ive heard that all 92 eg's had vtec already wired into the cab?
is it a rumor or is there any truth to it? what wires are used for vtec?
