would coilovers from a 92-95 work with a 88-91?

I believe spring-wise (which includes coilovers) everything is interchangeable from 88-00

I know the shocks are different from 88 to 89, the 89 has the U bracket thing at the bottom, whereas the 88 just has a hole for a bolt to go through.

yeah, shocks are different in '88, '89-'91, '92-'95, '96-'00.

Springs are all the same though IIRC.

that's only partly true because I know for a fact that the rear shocks from 89-95 are the same, the fronts might be different but i'm not positive.

if you want to start splitting hairs, sure. The question wasn't about shocks in the first place though.
