ELD? Electronic load detector question

on my p13 ECU for my h22 swap there is an ELD on D#10 ecu...my year prelude 88-89 doesn't have an ELD like that of the 90-91 and up.... Some people say I don't need it but will that throw a code and stop VTEC from engaging? Its located in your fuse box under the hood.

As for your question, if the ecu looks for it, it will throw a code if its not there. it doesn't care about your car or what car its in.

you can lift a ELD from a newer car and retrofit it, or get a ECU that doesn't look for it.

JDM (and european) cars don't have ELDs. JDM ECUs don't look for ELDs.
You can also disable the ELD in a chipped P28.
