:(Im converting this 90 integra to all electric, originally it had a auto trans, but it will run better with a 5 speed manual, the junk yards within 100 miles from spokane has no integras with 5 speeds, could someone with better knowledge of WHAT honda trans will bolt into the frame of the teg, I dont care about wiring or motor, its now electric dc motor and has custom adapter plate, oh check out the progress @ w w w dot blackdogfx dot com, it will most certainly smoke stock integras, 0-60 in 6 sec.
    thanks for the help^_^

Any cable-actuated B-series transmission will work. So that means any 90-93 Integra or any pre-1992 Civic B-series tranny is what you want. I'd just keep looking for another 90-93 Integra gearbox. They shouldn't be that hard to find. Check your local Craigslist and other local classifieds.

It's there, you just gotta click on a few things to get to it:

as of 2006 DOT census, 70% of the entire population only drives 40 miles a day, so I guess I will only have 70% of the the entire US as my market of my very poor range car!! poor me
Oh and thanks for the info, brutalb83 you rock, craigslist here in spokane, and the nickelnick is the pits here, no one has anything worth putting in this car, even the wrecking yards all have zip. If an integra comes in its stripped in 1 day!!

I guess so, yeah, but it still kind of kills the marketability of the car. The 40 mile per day rule is an average. Some days are going to be less, some days are going to be a lot more...

not really I have 6 people that want it right now so june 1st its sold
in canada there paying like $15 a gal for gas, all the 6 people are form Canada and only drive 25miles each way to work, plug it in for 8 hours then drive home with a full charge.
If you need to drive on long trips then you rent an ICE car, it still is cheaper then owning an ICE car
also the battery all EVers are waiting for is coming out july, its the lithium phosphate nano technology batts that weigh a third on the lbs and get to recharge in 10 minutes, on 110volts ac.
right now they are too expensive for me, 5500

Do you remember what they did to the guy who invented an electric car and was about to market it to GM? Yea... he mysteriously dissapeard. Anyhow, I think its pretty cool other than the range you get on it. I hear Pontiac is coming out with an electric car that charges itself as you drive it. Pretty neat stuff. I'm supposed to be sent out to take a class on Hybrids/flex fuels soon. Hopefully I get in on some of the electric action. :)

Hybrids are a joke!!! Flex fuels are for fools, and the designs on both POS are so complex it makes the ICE look like tinker toys
The electric cars were invented by thomas edison and henry ford in 1912 but they were hogwashed by the battery companies and the oil companies in 1914, then the war started and we went with ICE crap,
edison had a nickel iron battery that went 1000 miles in busses and trolleys.
the electric motor is 85-90% efficient stupid ICE are at best 24% efficient, and hybrids are at best 30-40% so it makes no sense to normal thinking people why the F--- we are still using them!!!!
Oh and brutal I went today to the junk yard and found an teg with a manual tranny, it was ofcourse removed but I got the pedals and the shift linkage, its not cable its rods???
I thought you said it was a cable tranny

Flex fuels were designed to run both pump gas and E85 simultaneously. As for hybrids, im not a fan because I can get the same gas mileage from a 1.5L sohc honda engine. ICE ... well its just ICE. I actually spoke to some people at GM at the autoshow in NY recently and in the next couple years some pretty interesting things are coming out as far as electric powered cars go. We will all see soon enough.

Last time I checked I couldnt afford $80000 for GM's ev cars
or anything more than $30000 so its a BS plan that all the big 3 have in mind I want to save gas $$$ right now

What do you mean cable tranny, the clutch is cable driven? or the shift linkage is cable? thanks for the good help I really aprec I would have to go and learn it for myself if it werent for these blogs and I love defending EVs I can bash any argument that anyone has, Ive been studing this stuff for years and have 2 ev's right now, I went 22 miles this morning came home plugged it in and 3 hours later when I had to go out agian I went 37 miles for another little junk yard run and I only spend $1.75 for the charging, I know I have a seperate meter for the cars chargers, I can handle that $$$, I cant handle what the big 3 have in mind for $$$ thats going into there bank accounts!!

The Civic's tranny won't work at all. It uses a D-series, which is a completely different motor than the B-series in your Integra...

I did, yes. I guess I should have explained myself better. You aren't going to find any pre-92 Civics in the junkyard with factory B-series engines. Here in the states no Civic had a B-series until the Del Sol VTEC, and those used a hydro tranny. If you do happen to find a B-series in a pre-92 Civic, it didn't come in there stock.

I guess what I should have said from the beginning is that you need a cable-actuated B-series tranny, and that another 90-93 Integra is the best place to find one, and just left it at that. Sorry for the confusion...
