emailing your resume?

i want to email my resume to this company i am going to apply at and i am not sure exactly what to say in the email. do i just tell them that my resume is attached and what i am applying for or what? do i just snail mail it and a cover letter to them?

i found the job online on the local newspaper's website and it had a link to the company's website that i am applying at and thats where i found the email addy to (i am guessing) the person in charge of the HR department of the place i want to apply at.

what do i do? the job i am applying for, i have the experience and am qualified for it and it sounds like a good place to work for. let me know ASAP because i have to have my resume in by Oct. 1st
