but it isn't? I was taking a turn on the way to work, not too fast, just a normal turn, and the engine suddenly choked like it was out of gas, and now it won't start like it's out of gas, but no it's NOT out of gas. ten bucks was put in day before yesterday, gauge is well above the E, and the light hasn't been on.

    So it cranks hard
I can hear the fuel pump

I literally need this fixed by 12 noon, so lol 2.5 hours

That's my next stop, just got it towed here to our shop, but it isn't an automotive shop so I don't have any tools :( No manual for this gen either, so going off my faded memory isn't helping with bolt sizes lol

Did it run ok yesterday? there's been cases where tanker trucks have put diesel into gas tanks. Try snifing the tank (within reason).... or try calling the gas station you filled up at to see if anyone else has reported issues.

    pull plug #3. fouled?

check the fuse box for popped fuses

Would an engine seizing go out like that? Or would there be some more noise associated with it?

It ran ok, thirty seconds before it died lol. IT was good, drove around the corner and bam.

Now it has been doing this kind of loss of power thing in low gears, while accelerating, but I have been attributing it to AC.

We added two more gallons of gas too, so having fuel is not the problem, I removed the fuse for the fuel pump, and put it back just to make sure I was hearing it right, and it is coming on.

also if you can take a look at the timing belt

was running fine and then suddenly stalled out
would crank but wouldnt even try to turn over

smell the tank. you should be able to smell diesel. even to the touch, the fuel feels different. the same thing happened to wild bill a while back. it wasn't instant after fill up. it was about the next day when it happened.

Timing belt has a cover on it, would have to take of valve cover, not too bad, just time consuming. I am at work too :(

How can you tell if it's the TB without looking at it?

Nope, cranking normal, timing belt is still there, only saw the top, but it is tight still. Fuel is definitely making it through the filter. Next stop if spark ...

the VTEC and non-VTEC SOHC distributors have the same part number
but the OBD-1 and OBD2 have different part numbers

i know the plugs are different
OBD-1 has 2 plugs OBD-2 has 1 (the wire locations match between the 2 if you are looking at repining one)
not sure if anything else is different about them

It was the fucking coil. Tested it with a multimeter out of the car, at Autozone, read different than a new one, put in the new one, fired right up.
