Is your timing set correctly? Are you throwing any codes? A chipped ECU can sometimes hide codes.

Who chipped the ECU? If it's one of those EBAY H22 chips, then it's probably dumping fuel into the motor. Their idea of tuning is making the whole powerband rich.

can you monitor your a/f ratio? if you can lean it out till it is not rich anymore.. make sure your plugs are burning as much fuel as they can too..
    check those plugs too..

It most definitely is not chipped by Skunk2. It's a knockoff. As tab said, it's just dumping a buttload of fuel into your cylinders.

That said, you could try leaning it out with a VAFC, but it's going to be tough to figure out where you should lean it to without using a wideband O2 sensor.

I'm willing to bet that would fix your problem, and make your car run and perform better as well.

A P13 will stop VTEC from engaging (hence a 6500 rpm revlimit) if it detects any codes. Was it throwing a code?

Your engine maintenance light is just a reminder light for you... it flashes after 4500 miles and stays on constant at 6000. To reset it reach under your dashboard, slightly right of the steering column, and you'll feel a small black buttong (or just look up under there). As soon as you turn the car on, hold that button down for about 5 or 6 seconds, and you'll see the light go off. After that you got another 4500 until you have to do it again!

put the p13 back in go to the emmisions station go back home and put the chipped ecu back in. no matter what you need to go to the dyno or get a wideband o2 to get the a/f right.

    I agree.

For now use the P13. You can engage VTEC at 5k and have the fuel cutoff no higher than 8k ish. Mine cuts off at 7600. The P13 is better than a knockoff program.
