Engine Block Weight

i'd say bare they weigh maybe 50-60 lbs?? anyone els?

I think it's significantly more than that, like just under 200 pounds. Honda had to do tons of weight savings to get the Insight engine down to just over 100 pounds... and I've been lifting engines all night- the D block weighs more than 110 pounds for sure.

Engine Weights:


D16 Si = 218.9 lbs.
Std/DX = 207.7 lbs.
HF = 195.3 lbs.
ZC = 247.9 lbs. (give or take a little.....)
B16 = 309 lbs.

Found this in my notes...have no idea anymore where it came from so take the info with a grain of salt

steel- that sounds about right. That damn ZC block was heavy!

B- yup, the shipping company got ripped off. Now go lift your B18 stuff and see just how heavy those things really are.

my pallette complete including pallette, shift linkage, axles, tranny, complete motor/wiring, was 512lbs on the shipping statement.
