Having problems swapping the older engine (d16a6) into a newer 93 civic ex coupe body. There is apparently different motor mount locations due to different transmissions. I'm wondering if an original tranny for the 93 has the ability to bolt into the d16a6 engine. The old tranny on the old motor puts 2 of the engine mounts (passenger side and firewall side) in the wrong place. Furthermore, there is no place on the 93 for the front engine mount. Did the 93 only have 3 mounts? Or is my 93 ex missing the front mount cause it was taken out?

:(

you need to use the 93 transmission - in addition to the mounts all being different, the 93 uses a hydraulic actuated clutch where the 88-91 uses a cable clutch - you can't run the cable transmission in the 93 car - on the driver's side end of the engine, you need to take the mount that bolts to the engine block from the 93 engine and use it instead of the mount that is on the D16A6 block
