My buddy has a 93 si hatch with the d16z6 engine. He let me drive it and i hit vtec at 5200rpm. After the first time all the engine does is bobbles at 5500rpm like it is hitting a rev limiter. I thought maybe it was an oil issue so i checked the oil level, and the level was good. I then disconnected the vtec seliniod to see if i could still rev passed 5500 and it still does the same thing. After a new dizzy cap and rotor, with some new plugs, i tried it again. Same outcome. Has anyone ever had this problem? I am kinda at a standstill about what the problem could be.
