I have a 94 Civic 5 spd with a ZC SOHC engine and I am thinking about buying a 98 Civic with a D16Y7 auto,my question is can I put the ZC in the 98 or is my best bet to try and find another D16Y7?If it is possible what sort of mods if any will it require?
it is possible, you have to convert obd1 to obd 2 amongst everything to swap auto to manual in the 98, you'd save yourself money trying to find a 5 speed probably
The easiest thing here would be to just buy a D16Y7. I don't know if you have inspections where you live, but your car would never pass with an engine older then the shell...
Not necessarily. There are lots of different versions of the ZC. Remember that they are basically just D-series engines under a different name, so they come in all the typical D-series varieties (SOHC, SOHC-VTEC, DOHC, etc.)...
