Celebrated my two year anniversary with my girlfriend. Started to re arrange my basement and just relaxed for once. It was actually a pretty damn good weekend.

Stayed in Friday night, preparing for finals next week. Went to hooters for some wings, instead of going to Atlantic City for the night like I planned before I had a shitload of work come down on me.

Saturday night I stayed in and did some homework as well. Went to the gym, had a kick butt session and cleaned up the house a bit. Had a friend come over at night.

Sunday, woke up and drove back home. Sold a bodykit for the WRX to some kid from New York, he was a nice guy and we shot the shit for a bit. Saw the family for the first time since Thanksgiving for a couple of hours before I went back home and went to work.

Very low key weekend for myself.

The pulley won't go on or wouldn't come off? Most people have trouble breaking the pulleys free because they spin if you don't put the car in gear and step on the brake sometimes.

Getting the pulley on would seem like the simplest part, line up the key and put the car in gear and step on the brake and torque the shit out of it.

There must be something I'm missing here.

    Here is what you're missing:

There is no key. There is no timing mark on the outside of the engine. Timing is hidden once you put the timing cover back on.

Chew on that for a minute :)

that said, yeah - I needed a pulley puller to get it off, but it won't go back on. I'm afraid to strip the crank threads, because I can use a bolt / nut to tighten it on straight - but again, the torque gets dangerously close to stripping.

I'm a step away from turning something on a lathe to get it to fit, or getting a new pulley. If not then it's sandpaper again for me (Shoeshine technique, laugh - but I also worked the cam bearings this way to get them into the journals)

like I said, the Neon DOHC is a nightmare.
