Threebrain. Highly underappreciated artist, I've been following him for years. Once you get through the crazy stuff, there's some really good music there. He's toured all over the country, and has made a few musical commercials for a convienience store chain on the west coast, as well as a few short commercials on Spike TV. I like his live performances the best, but the site is a bit disorganized and they're somewhat hard to find.

i know we don't condone stealing music here, but can someone PM me with a decent place to sample these songs...?
i haven't DL'ed music for 3+- years

Puya - Oasis; Ride
Blindside - Shekina
any Bela Fleck and the Flecktones
any Jon Spencer Blues Explosion
Mr. Oizo - Flat Beat, Analog Worms Attack
Alkaline Trio - Fuck You Aurora
Blood Brothers - I Know Where The Canaries and Crows Go
Faith No More - We Care A Lot, Epic
Ministry - Jesus Built My Hot Rod
The Nixons - Rocketman

And then of course all my heavy shit, i.e. Lamb Of God, The Agony Scene, Norma Jean, etc.

Tangerine Dream - Rockoon..

got virtually all their albums but no one I know has ever heard of them...

Guess I am just a saddo English Man.. :D

To date, I have over 60 TD albums. Vinyls, CDs, t-shirts and concert ticket stubs.

You are not alone.

but Rockoon ? New TD isn't anywhere near as groundbreaking as the early stuff. My favorites with the likes of Tangram, Ricochet, and Logos is "Is this all one song?!"

Lets get obscure.
Dubstar - Stars (Lacuna Coil Cover)
Beth Orton
Sinead Lohan
Luscious Jackson
Poe
Tanita Tikaram
Lori Line

Or, since of course these are big in other sections of the world, but no one in the US has yet been blessed:
BOA
Orbital (Is that the song from Mortal Kombat? hahaha)
Annie Haslam / Renaissance
Mike Oldfield (Watch their faces when you play Tubular Bells)
Finley Quaye
Matthew Herbert
Si*Se (who, for being a local band from NY, has NO US coverage whatsoever)
Olive
The finer works of Portishead (Who had one song out here, everyone was humming it, no one bought the album (similar to the US downfall of Primitive Radio gods))

Duncan Shiek ? Roger Waters ? Jon Anderson ? All the guys from King Crimson? Lost on most people's ears.

But damn... a fellow Tangerine Dreamer !

Yer, TanGram, Now you're talking Bud. Played loud as hell.... :worthy:

I autocross to Green Desert.

-> Steve

Edit: Some of my TD faves and their situations:
Cloudburst Flight (Exit) - Highway speeding
Tiergarten (Le Parc) - Chilling out (Did you know that VH1 played video on their first day of airing?)
Marakesh (Optical Race) - Another autocross favorite
Quichochet II (Tangram) - Playing shooter games at 1:00 am
Heartbreakers Suite (Heartbreakers soundtrack) - Meditation / daydreaming (I'm listening to it now)

Long trips with me involve repeat plays of Wavelength, Sorceror, Canyon Dreams, Stratosfear and White Eagle, to name a few. My newest stuff extends to about Melrose, and the last album I bought was the release of 1977's Soundmill Navigator.

I always get a weird reaction when I'm playing anything from Psychopathic... whether it be:

"Is that Insane Clown Posse? They suck ass. But... that's pretty fuckin' cool."

or

"Who's this?"
"Twiztid"
"Damn, they can rap!"
"No shit."
"Why aren't they popular?"
"Cause they don't wanna be, bitch."

Any Dream Theater gets some weird looks. I like people who don't know about Satriani and Vai and then they say something like, "Hey, where are the words?"

Nine Inch Nails can usually get a wtf out of people if you aren't playing Pretty Hate Machine or the Downward Spiral.

Rancid - i wanna riot
the independents - bloody night bloody knife
link 80
neubauten - nnnaaammm
finch - letters to you
papa roach - REVENGE IN JAPANESE *the ONLY papa roach song worth anything to me*
40 Below Summer
unloco
ill nino

i could go on.

i'm agreeing with 'bitchin camaro' man.. what a tune
