I'm thinking about getting a test pipe or a highflow cat. My car has been converted to OBD1 which I believe doesn't monitor your catalytic converter effeciency. So does that mean I won't get any codes or a rich fuel mixture without doing anything other than just installing the pipe?

haha, 8-9 depending on where you are in the rpm band.

It's much louder, and more shrill (with my exhaust)

If you do remove your cat then be sure to put the resonator in, otherwise it will be ridiculously loud...

i hate loud, espceially when people mess with the cat or cut holes in stock mufflers

mustang cobra with flowmaster or magnaflow mufflers is a sound of beauty.

If I'm reading you straight, your confused, because it seems you think a catalytic converter is also a resonator. A resonator is a restrictive, sound redirecting piece of material, usually made of metal, that is generally offered as a removable in most mufflers. Again, a resonator does it's job in the muffler. A catalytic converter is restrictive due to the chemicaly fortifed walls on the inside and the nature of how it works. Since it's restrictive, it also dampens sound waves from the engine.

And if I'm wrong, and your not confused, o well lol
