exhaust

i just bought an axel bak exhaust for my crx and now there is like black dust in side the tip of the muffler. i just want to know if this is normal. i also bought a catalytic converter for my car but have not put it on yet; do yall think this could be the cause of all that black shit inside the tip of the muffler.

Could be your motor running a little rich. Exhaust in itself is really not a clean thing, expect the inside of exhaust pipes/mufflers to get dirty. I wouldn't worry about it unless it starts causing a big black spot on your cars paint (i.e. running WAY too rich). The black powder is most likely left over carbon from the combustion.
