    Hey yall,

just got my f22a(automatic) tranny in today - and I was comparing it to my old f23a tranny - it has a few notable differences and i need help on tackling them.

First thing i noticed was the shift linkage - the mechanisim and location are completely different on these trannies and I am clueless as how to approach this.
F23 is on the back underside and pulls the gears and is on a spring for when you down shift - but the F22 looks almost like a throttle cable its weird, and its on the top left of the tranny.

also alot of the connectors look different . some of the solenoids that were controlled seperately now have combined controlls- this worries me.

I could switch the old solenoids in but this again worries me because my current tranny(f23) is malfunctioning and im not all sure why and its burning tranny fluid.

Also it didnt come with a Torque converter - again I can use my old one but again with the burnt tranny fluid i am scared to use it on my new tranny.

i just dont know where to start - all of your expertiese is welcome.

i will have more but these are the ones that have uploaded so far to my computer here at work from my phone - apologize for the quality.

this is the big connector on the F22 tranny assuming the TCM connector. Not sure how many pins this one ...[IMG]
but the plug on my old tranny has 10 wires coming out of it.
that is the f23 big plug- sorry i couldn't find a clearer pic.

the internal solenoid on the f22
    [IMG]
    the external ones...

now these are the solenoid from the f23 tranny... not the black and brown plugs in back and unplugged on the right
    [IMG]
    the unplugged plugs fit here..
all but this one are controlled seperately..

    shift linkage on the f22
    [IMG]

it is set up in the same way as a throttle cable is. just not sure on the procedure to hookup a new cable- asically i am assuming i need some new cable and some cable sleeving, and i probably run it from the tranny to the center console

f23 linkage - its the cable that crosses under the sensor in the CAT
    [IMG]
where is connects to tranny - sorry so blurry
    [IMG]

here is a pic of the f22 i found online - looks identical

i will post more after lunch- i have no service down where i work.
