I have raced there back in the day. Bakersfield. I even towed my friends old CRX Si (with a JG head and 80 shot direct port NOS) with a crappy....extra crappy rented trailer that had a flat the next morning. He drove my hatch there as I drove 58mph max (trailer would walk all over the road if I went faster). I had the D16Z6 motor then and ran really good times on that track (2/10 faster then ever before). Everyone was running faster there than at Sacramento Raceway.

Love to go but its too deep of a drive and I got too many irons in my fire right now lol

I grew up in Fresno - left in '89. Went to Famoso many times with uncle when growing up - great memories. Might hit Ennis (Dallas) for the Fall Nationals this year.

Yeah.....thats my buddy that past away. We had my old stock front springs in the back of the CRX. It sat up so effing high in the back. Stupid now but tons of guys were doing that back then. 13.3 with a CRX Si D16 and my custom ram air made out of irrigation piping and two pantie hoses for filters! Little retardation of the timing and some colder plugs. That motor never blew! Sold it before that happened lol He must have had 40+ runs on a direct wet shot.

Little giggle juice for your teggy soon? Cool....
Are you rebuilding your trans yourself? If so...let me know how it goes

aww sorry to hear about your buddy.
ha ha thats funny, a lot of people did crazy things back then. aftermarket support wasnt all that great, had to make do.

Yeah my tuner said 100 wet shot wouldnt hurt it. do im gonna do it when I get some free cash.

Im no tranny expert but I have a buddy that offered me to do it for free. I need to get a LS 5th before i get it all done.

I just remember the track being extra sticky (I was launching 300rpm higher)

If you're going to stay overnight via hotel, it's an armpit around the track, at least it used to be. North end of Bakersfield is ok, near hwy 58 and I-5 area. Ming exit.

best time was 15.2 at 92mph with zero launch. The track was rather slick. couldnt even get a 2k rpm launch in without it spinning the tires all of 1st and 2nd. Also chirped 3rd-4th.

I need sticky tires or LSD tranny lol

Im going back on the 23rd with my tri y's and no muffler Maybe Ill pick up better times.

Yeah....you should be in the mid-14's all day with that set up.

I have seen a dozen GSR's with 3-bolts hit 14.5-14.7 all day long and thats probably less whp than you have right now.

well took a closer look at the engine today and noticed that my cam timing might have been thrown off! FML I think my intake cam was set at +3 and now I see it at +6 or +7. It seemed like my top end was lagging on my second run and all after. Also noticed my header was smashed to shit (I wont let people borrow my car anymore).

when I install my Tri y's Ill have to redyno it for sure. Its only $40 but cash is hard to come by right now.

    Ill have vids soon.
