Fan cut on temp.

Hey, Im wondering at what temperature do the electric fans switch on in a Std Hatch. The motor was smoking (I know the valve cover gasket needs to be replaced ASAP) and the temp rose to the half way mark on the dash. I let it run for more than 5 minutes, but the fans NEVER cut on. If the fan switch is f***ed, I'll just wire in a switch on my dash and just leave it on while I'm driving.

no, i cut it off when i saw the fans werent turning on.
