Is the S2k the fastest 4 banger out of the box?
Doesn't the WRX use a boxer engine?
Yeah, but it's still a 4-cyl engine....
lol. so a v6 and a straight 6 are not both considered 6 cylinder motors?
only the WRX Sti, not the regular WRX.
Why would you say that? The WRX has about 50 more ft-lbs of torque...
Edit: Never mind, looked it up, the S2000 has it by 2/10 of a second......dammit.
2002 Subaru Impreza WRX
0-60: 5.4 Transmission: Manual
1/4 Mile: 14.1
1/4 Speed: 96
2004 Subaru WRX STi
0-60: 4.9 Transmission: Manual
1/4 Mile: 13.2
1/4 Speed: 105
2003 Honda S2000
0-60: 6.3 Transmission: Manual
1/4 Mile: 14.9
1/4 Speed: 95
2003 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution 8
0-60: 5 Transmission: Manual
1/4 Mile: 13.6
1/4 Speed: 101
2003 Dodge Neon SRT-4
0-60: 5.6 Transmission: Manual
1/4 Mile: 14.2
1/4 Speed: 102
Even the SRT-4 spanks the S2000.
don't forget the lotus "sp"
Weird. I forget what site I got my 1/4 mile times at....anyway, it said the S2000 was .2 seconds faster. Ehhhh. Whatever.
So the others need a turbo to get that fast? ok so the STi is the fastest four banger but it needs a turbo to do it. S2k fastest NA 4 banger? what if they all had turbos??? which has the most potential from the factory?
NA 4 cylinder I think it would be the a s2.
How about faster NA 6 cylinder....??
who knows, quick response....
Try to SC the S2000. You won't get much power out of it because it already has a what? 11.0:1 compression ratio.
The S2000 has high enough compression one could be mistaken for thinking it had a turbo or supercharger.
Fastest NA 6 banger is probably with the Porsche Boxster or the Nissan 350Z.
Edit: don't whine about "but they have turbo's"
He asked waht the fastest four banger was, not what the fastest NA 4 banger, etc. If they come from the factory w/ a turbo then don't cry foul because Honda is built for economy with style.
why do they call it a boxter engine is it made by porsche???
The Boxster has a flat 6 in it, the engine is called a Boxer engine. so they called it the Boxster
It's not all about the engine, remember EVO 8's and Sti's are AWD, i think being able to launch at 6000rpm+ and still get traction will help just a tad bit
porsche uses boxter engines exclusively i think except the new Carerra GT with a V10... anyway, its the type of engine like inline, v, rotary, etc.. the boxter engines are engines in which the pistons are laying flat.. they go up and down at a 180 degree.. basically an inline but with a horizontal plane configuration.
are you on drugs? 14.9? do you believe everything you read on the internet?
