What blows me away though, is that they have a turbo busa that is pushing more than twice the HP of a stock one, and its only 56 miles per hour faster. I think some custom body work is in order. Stop tweaking the motor and build him a little bubble, I bet it rockets past 300.
the power needed to gain speed over a certain rate is exponential growth.
similar to volume of speakers. i can't remember the exact numbers, but for every 2 decibles over 107 you have to double the amount of sound exerted.
it's easy to get to a certain point, but it's hard to exceed it by a large amount.
Due to drag, hence the custom body work.
i agree. that thing is shaped like a bowling ball.
gt40!? jesus christ. i'm suprised that thing even spools it
What custom body work?
its a super high revving 1.3 liter. lots of exhaust velocity to spool that turbo up. i agree about the stock fairings. they need to throw that into a wind tunnel and do some experimentation. possibly enxtend the swing arm a little more to keep the nose from coming up. i saw a B-king when i was in japan. that bike is nuts.
The custom body work I was speaking of..
they brought the head to my school so we could bench flow it
So whats the power to weight ratio? About 1:2, 2.5? lol.
At full power its like 1.5hp:1lb without rider. With its probably 1:1.
Suzuki wanted to make the fastest sport bike in the world and has spent most of their R&D on dealing with wind, notice how even after a brand new busa was released 10 years later it still looks like the first one? still has that hump on the rear and the weird front.
With the money that guy put into building that bike, making body changes wouldn't have been that hard and my guess is money isnt an issue, I believe they feel the body is already where it needs to be.
Hard to believe that's a full redesign. Clearly they're holding onto the body work they know already works but simply made it a bit more edgyness for a newer look.
As to the swing arm it is extended, my guess is there's rues that only allow you to extend it so many inches past stock.
Sort of.. That is a functional motorcycle.
I'm talking about a one mile top speed specialty vehicle.
This vehicle currently holds the world speed record of 81mph.. Its a bicycle. Pedal powered..
Engineer something like that, but with a busa inside vs a bicycle and see what happens.. I bet its spectacular.
But then it wouldn't be in a motorcycle class.
Same deal, is that topspeed anything special? not really but for it's class its friggin fast.
Fastest mile on a Busa? Not if it only did 256mph...
Scott Guthrie did 259.4 on a Busa at the Texas Mile in October.

I was thinking there should be a bike out there faster since I remember seeing a Busa dynoing about 700hp(doesn't mean that was the fastest, but means there should be a couple of bikes out there with more power on tap).
They had a a video of it on I believe a air strip, but the front end kept coming up. They also never listed a top speed for that bike so who knows.
That's pretty freaking fast!
