I think "panda" is being used in reference to the color scheme - black and white.

Would you call a B&W VW bug a panda? Some cars already have established animal similes...and the S13 Zenki (89-90) has a pignose.
 
Would I do it personally? No. Do I have the presence of mind to realize that others, especially of other nationality, might? Yes.

The CAR isn't what's being referred to here, it's the color scheme.

Its called context. We (not you) are talking about whether we're discussing the color scheme or the look of it.

My point was traditionally the 89-90 240 is called a "pig-nose", its a cute little name for how the body looks.

Everyone else was talking about the color scheme.

I then made an EXTREME comment about the color of the car - ie it's white. Bird feces is also typically white because they do not urinate and therefore they excrete all of their waste through the same digestive tract. Merely a color based comparison and not a quality/opinion/etc. judgement on the work done.

My comments, intended as lighthearted, obviously came across negatively. I dont translate well over forums because you expect me to act like an asshole.
 
I think that's why he wants to paint the roof black. Most of the car is black from the top of the doors up, so painting the roof would give the car a 2-tone look.

And yeah, I know about the pignose thing. Just like S14 Kouki are referred to as "angry eyes".
