This has never happened to me. Is IE still on your system at all? If so its all that evil browsers fault.

i uninstalled right after i installed firefox. But now i am using the beta 2 version of ie. 7. I dont like opera 8 too much, netscape blows, and now i hate firefox. I am about to make my own browser.

I've NEVER had an issue like that. maybe you're logging onto firefox under a different user/profile. check out firefoxes FAQ/Issues page.

Also theres no way I know of to remove IE. unless you're still running windows 95

book marks and settings are stored OUTSIDE of the firefox application.
you can UNINSTALL firefox, and then REINSTALL later, and STILL have your bookmarks, etc.

    C:\Documents and Settings\YOURNAME\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\default.ast

change your loginname in the place above.
there should be an html file called bookmarks.html in the profile name you use
