no pics of the shark... we didnt catch it, it was just circling the boat and terrorizing the fish we were catching. it came completely out of the water chasing about a 20lb bonita i had on, pretty cool to see a 8ft shark fly out of the water.
 
Caught two striper on Monday! One was a 14" so I had to throw it back but the other one was a keeper... 18.5" !!

striper is tasty, one of the best tasting fish you can catch in freshwater. i used to live in north georgia and would catch stripers, hybrids, and white bass in some of the reservoirs up there.
 
anyone here from nor cal area that fishes for stripper? ive been out once, a long time ago, along the sacramento river and used live minnows as bait but we didnt catch anything. wanting to go back but dont know anyone that knows where and what to fish with. oh yeah, nor cal its 18" and over as well.

anyway, been fishing for cat fish and mtn large mouth bass for a couple of months. been a fricking blast. average size of the bass are pretty small right now around 13" and catfish around 18". hoping to land either a 16-18" bass or 24" cat fish by end of the season.
 
Yeah here in Virginia stripers need to be at least 18"

i went offshore yesterday and we caught over 30 bonita. we had some kids with us so it was a blast watching all of them trying to fight strong fish on big rods. more than once i had to take rods from kids that were too tired and couldnt hold them up anymore. the prize of the day was a blackfin tuna that went straight into the ice :D
i pan seared it with a recipe i got from florida sportsman, it was better than it is in a restaurant... my fiancee and i destroyed it lol

no pics this time i forgot my camera at home
 
damn hella jealous.. been wanting to go marine fishing for a while. speaking of which, off to the lake for the day and see if i can land my limit on bass.
 
how big was it mdpsEG? did you weigh or measure it?

I can't wait till I get a chance to go out on a charter again :)

Good call! I went out on charter a few weeks ago onto the Chesepeake Bay near Colonial beach area. We went trolling for striper. It wasn't a bad trip but we only caught one striper - which was 19# or 36". Unfortunately, we were just a few weeks late in missing the tournament season but it was still a good time fishin and drinkin beer.

Planning a day for striper very soon, hopefully will actually catch something this time. been trout fishing couple times with no luck.
