Panasonic 42 in. (Diagonal) Class 1080p 600 Hz Plasma HD Television ENERGY STAR®

And sears price matches online stores.

so you can probably take another hundred off that. it's 100 bucks over your price range.

Plasma's havent had a glare issue in about 2 years so as long as you buy something new you wont have a glare issue.

At the size you're talking about there's no deals to be had on plasma though. And really there is not an LCD tv in this world i dont have a bitch about usually in regards to color accuracy.

And you're not going to get a name brand any flat panel for less than 700 bucks at 42". So dont plan on watching a lot of standard def content because i can guarantee the upcalers in house brand products are shit. And the Denon 790 is the only receiver i've seen under 500 bucks with a half way decent scaler.

not so much any more... nearly all plasmas today have a built in pixel-shift to prevent burn-in

Samsung ftmfw. Forget price, pony up the extra dough and get a nice TV.

Go look at any tv store and compare the samsung picture to everything else. It just pwns all.

fuck a best buy warranty. it's a HUGE scam. if your tv breaks, it will be within the manufacturers warranty period or long after the best buy warranty expires.

do some research online about best buy warranties. you'll see a TON of articles.

funny because my Samsung had a couple lines go out on the very left of the screen, its hardly noticable unless you know its there.. it happened 3 months after the manufacture warranty expired... i didnt get the extra warranty, so i'm screwed... TV still looks amazing.. just a couple lines off to the side

see if me and b are on the same team who can argue? hmmm? who wants to try.

oh and samsung isnt the king of quality. pioneer is. but since the world seems against plasma's for some unknown reason they sold all their tech to panasonic.

go check out a plasma. the panny s1 series (close to your budget) has an anti-reflective coating on it. It'll probably surprise you how well it does. That coating is also one of the reasons plasmas aren't as bright.

If you're okay with the drive check this place out:

    Home - Kellum

They SOMETIMES have killer deals and the sales people are pretty awesome. Even though im sure they work on commission i didnt have them steering me in any certain direction when i came in.

Had my Panasonic Plasma for a year and a half now with no burning issues. I tend to turn it off when its at a screen that doesn't change though.

Glare can be fixed by curtains, I personally haven't had any issues with that problem.

Their contagious. I'm telling you. After you do a side by side comparison of models in the same price range you'll wonder why people buy LCDs in the first place.
