Like I've said before, this wouldn't even be a problem if 99% of Americans weren't raging idiots who vote based on name recognition.

They have to disclose who they fund. I dont think your average american will even look at the disclosure list.

EDIT: This could be a good think. Since they must disclose, they have no incentive to continually hide their funding as they did under the mccain/feingold act (to avoid a spending cap) . . . . hmm but there is ALWAYS an incentive to hide funding from the people of this country.

Now ill have to read up and find out if this law somehow prevents them from hiding the funds.

The issue here this gives the UAW a blank check to put whoever they would like in whatever position they would like. Same for the oil companies and the defense industry.

Because most people are so god damn retarded you end up with any of these special intrest groups running ads against a candidate they do not like claiming they eat babies and fuck horses on the full moon and guess what!?!?!? The sheeple will buy it hook line and sinker. Have you ever seen the shit that gets passed off as truth in an email? And how many people believe that completely, well Americans are conditioned to panic/cheer/cry/yell at anything that shows up on t.v.

I read another article this morning slanted the other way, how this was a great thing because it gives corporations more freedom. I loved the comments at the end saying that since Obama said he would fight against this, he's fighting against the 1st amendment. I'm no Democrat by any means but come on. We're all riding the same bus. This left vs right crap has people so blinded and bitter against the people sitting on the other side of the greyhound that we're going to crash ourselves into a wall.

Ji said it best. It was years and years ago, and he deleted all his posts, but I'll never forget it: "The next civil war won't be north vs south. It will be left vs right."

And as usual, the smart people who can see both sides of the issue will be stuck in the middle.

in my opinion, this wont change things a whole lot. both sides will be fighting themselves. it is going to be a marketing companies dream world though.

i honestly don't think it will be too bad. just think about who would be funding what.

dems usually want stupid high taxes to pay for the poor/stupid/lazy. i can't think of a company that would want higher taxes. corporations don't really care either way. poor people don't contribute to campaigns, so their politicians wont have as much political swing.

gop wants to lower taxes and fend for the wealthy. GOP will be funded by corporations to lower taxes, rich voters who actually contribute, and other people who want to keep their money.
