We just got a big rain and my dads EF flooded about 2 inches but only on the passenger side. Have any ideas?

When it flooded we started tearing up the carpet (not literally) and it was still running while we did it so we could still have the heater. Then I noticed the ECU was blinking. I looked up at the gauges and the cel wasn't on. I looked it up in the "bible" and its code 10 "Intake air tempature". Who knows how long it has been on for. Have any ideas with this?

Another weird thing is both my dad and I have the same motor and when I turn my car off it has like a bov. It goes ssssshhhhhhttt for 2 seconds. When you turn off my dads car it does the same but much more slower and for like 10-15 seconds. I know it sounds really weird but thats the best I can do. Have any ideas with this too? Thanks.

That bov sound is the air getting sucked through your intake. When you turn the car off thats like the last gasp of air for it. Cold air enhances that sound. Even with a stock intake you can hear it but not so loud. Yours might take two seconds bc of the coldair but if your dads is stock then it will take longer for that last gasp of air. For the code maybe there is a sensor bad or reset the ecu and see if it comes back on. Maybe that rain had something to do with that.

Yea, my car has a intake and my dads car is stock. But I still don't think it should be as slow as it is.

I pulled the hazard fuse and we'll see if it comes on back tomorrow. If so I have a spare PM6 ECU I'll try. I also think that water exposure may have caused the code and why its not coming on in the gauge cluster.

Yea that sound is normal. I would just pull the neg. off for maybe acouple mins. to reset the ecu. But yea usual when it throws a code the check engine light should come on.

Pulling the hazard fuse does the same thing except you get to keep your stereo presets.:D

Also I read somewhere when the sunroof drain lines come apart it all dumps into the interior. It didn't do it last winter.

So the code is gone. Not really woried about that.

It rained pretty good today again and its not letting up soon. After getting it mostly dry yesterday with a shop-vac it got another 2 inches again today. So far it ruined my amp and I hope its not going for the ECU. The amp is all apart drying by the fireplace as i'm writing this.

Have any ideas on the leak?

    A friend and a hose.

Leaks are a pain. You just have to look at the seals to see if there bad. If there ok then you start tearing the trunk out and (this is were the friend and hose come into play) then close it up and then get your friend to start spraying the car down. While he is doing that you hangout in the car looking for the leak.
