flywheel/starter question about b16 typeR

i recently bought a 93 civic with a b16 type R.. the guy i got it from said it needed a new starter... i bought a new starter and it didnt work..i got a starter for a 99-00 b16 is that the right starter or do i need a starter for a b16b? and when i took my starter out i reached in and i could wiggle my flywheel back and forth.. so is it the starter or flywheel? and if its the flywheel do i need a speacial one for lsd? thank you in advance for your help..

If you could wiggle your flywheel right away I'd say you got a serious problem. If it's simply loose against the crank you can solve this problem by removing the transmission and tightenting the bolts. To find out though, you'd have to remove the transmission regardless. if it's moving with the crankshaft, I would call that crankwalk and depending on how lucky or unlucky you are, you may need a new block.
