Took the car in today to get an oil change and have 3rd gear checked out. I talked directly to the service manager and he said yeah pretty much every SI and X model Accord have an issue with 3rd gear. I told him I didn't think a change of fluid would do the trick, he said, yeah, Honda told us to do that at first but it clearly didnt work, if it acts up we'll replace the whole 3rd gear.

Went to pick it up and he said 3rd gear was going to be replaced, just need to setup a time to drop it off and they'd get it done.

Awesome. Shitty that it has to be done. But awesome they're going to fix it like they should.

it seems that honda just can never get third gear correct.
maybe they should find a new engineer to design the gears.

Ever driven a 4th gen prelude? 3rd gear was basically useless in that car...dont think it actually existed.
