gearbox wizards needed

hey guys my 3rd gear in my car seize to stay in and all it does is make this loud grinding sound, but my 1 345th and reverse work great, so does this sound like a tranny problem or a cllutch , thanks

wow that was a horribly worded diagnosis. you sound like one of my goofy friends, in which case i recommend taking it to a professional.

i believe the word you were looking for was 'ceased', which means 'stopped'.

sounds like syncros are shot and gear is probably toast too. yeah deffinatly a trans issue...

if i remember right, gears 1/3 are the same component, as 2/4 and 5/R. 'one gear' contains 2 gearings. ..if i remember right.

ya, instead of buying another stock OEM one, i suggest you get it rebuilt with carbon coated syncros, which will help those powershifts baby your gears at least a little

sorry man, i work at nights, i was tired, still wouldnt have spelt ceased correctly though LOL, I guess out with LS in with the GSR tranny, thank for the responses
