After I wrecked the windstar it took my dad nearly 2 months to get a new truck. Finally picked up a 99 GMC Savanna fullsize van on November 1st.

Yesterday I was told to go down to Tennessee, so I packed up and started down there.

I got to Anderson Indiana and I couldn't accelerate anymore. I blew out 3rd/4th gear on the transmission. LOL

So I drove it home 90 miles in 2nd gear basically redlining it around 50-60 mph on state route 9/US24.

13 days after buying it the transmission dies and the mechanic noticed there were half the bolts on the oil pan holding it in, even though I didn't notice any oil spots in my driveway it was leaking bad.

So once again, I'm without a work vehicle. I'm sure my dad isn't going to be pleased after spending 4500 on the GMC to spend another few grand on a brand new Jasper 4 sp auto transmission.

My luck with domestic vehicles isn't very good. Glad I own an import.

A 4500 dollar used van. The person who owned it before probably beat the crap out of it. People tend to overload fullsized vans.

    It's a POS either way...

I really didn't have high expectations with this thing. 154k miles on it. No power anything. It's a bare bones vehicle that has been hit on the road at some point.

Because I need an enclosed vehicle for all my supplies, a pickup wouldn't cut it.

Its going to be 2500 dollars for the transmission. A little over half of what we paid for the POS.

I'm willing to bet someone beat the snot out of it. The vans at my last company ran great, half of them well into the 100k's a couple well over 200k for the couriers. The vans we have at the new job I started, the one is at 217 the other at 325k.
I guy I knew from Buffalo had an Impala and a Cirrus for his wife. One blew a transmission and the other had bad alignment problems all within two weeks his son started driving. Coincidence?

I agree.Like I said before I worked a humongous electrical shop wiht a lot of vehicles. I scheduled most of the maintenance and did the transporting of them often. Most were over 100k within the first two years of ownership and all ran like tops. Some were in the 200's and 300's and they were still getting by as yard vehicles.
