Any of you other PS3 guys have it yet? I just started on it last night and I've been BLOWN AWAY so far. It's everything I hoped for and more. This one may keep me away from Call of Duty for a while...

I have heard really great things about it. I dont own a PS3 but if they could come out with more content on the level of GoW III it may convince me to pick one up to sit along side my 360. I do think that the newest GoW ad is badass. I laugh every time I see it.

My problem with the PS3 is that there are so few exclusive titles that I can't justify buying one, already being a 360 owner. God of War 3 looks amazing though, and if I had the cash sitting around I'd totally pick up a ps3 and play it.

That's the thing with Sony's exclusives, they don't have a whole lot of them, but when they do do them (yes, I said "doo doo"), they do 'em pretty good. Both the Uncharted games, MGS4, and now God of War have all been pretty damned spectacular...

Yeah, I was hooked as soon as the opening credits started rolling and then the first level where you're riding on the titan starts. And then, when it got to the part where you're just mercilessly beating the shit out of Poseidon, I was like "OMG this is fucking awesome!"

The graphics are just spectacular. They're so good that all the cutscenes use the in-game engine, so it's all seamless...

I never got the whole exclusive thing with PS3 VS xbox 360 how is it the 360 has way more?

    Fable
    Gayo
    Gears of War
    Forza

Those are what comes to mind, what else am I missing that's such a blockbuster game? Most really big block buster games have been on BOTH systems.

PS3 games that come to mind

    Resistance fall of man 1/2
    Little big Planet
    MGS4
    Demons Souls FTMFW!
    God of War series
    GT5 (sooner or later)
    Uncharted Series

If I was forced to only have one system based on exclusive, with out a doubt I'd go with the PS3. I wouldn't even think twice.

    Halo franchise
    Project Gotham Racing

I look more at franchise exclusivity. Multiple iterations in a series.

I think the biggest blow to Sony is the lose of GTA and Final Fantasy as exclusives. That is more indicative of Sony's current position than anything.

Meh not really, I have zero doubt that if GTA and Final Fantasy were xbox 360 exclusives they would have done the same thing.

bottom line, it's all about the money, GTA and SquareEnix know they can make tons more on every system VS just 1

I listed Halo, but not project gotham since Forza seems to put that to shame.

Some of the appeal of that comes with an exclusive title comes from the fact that the developers are focusing 100 percent of their time on one system. So they are able to flesh the game out a great deal more. CoD for example has issues patching in an timely fashion do to supporting three different platforms.

COD is a bad example, thats not because of 3 different platforms its because they sold so many copies, when you have thousands and thousands of people playing one game, 1 out of the group will find an issue then post it up on the net, then next thing you know its all over.

COD has made more money (over the 1 billion dollar mark) then what the whole company of Capcom made all year (game informer source)

There's so many people playing it that they are talking about setting up a pay to play fee in the future so they can have programmers on hand to keep up with all the little bugs that gets found as with server issues.

There's nothing wrong with exclusive I like them, I just can't figure out why xbox 360 > > > > PS3 when it comes to exclusive

When I think about the games for each system it just doesnt add up.

Thats a very fair point. I didn't factor in the install base. I think I am partial to the 360 for the simple fact that I never had a Playstation. The last counsel I had before my 360 was a Genesis. That is right a Sega Genesis.

Haven't bought GOW3 yet because I haven't finished GOW2- not to mention 3 other games I bought at Christmas. Too many things to do. I'm really looking forward to GOW3 when it's time to play it though!

I really enjoy both my systems, and xbox live still beats PSN although PSN is catching up. slowly but surely. There's more single player games i want to play on the PS3, but anytime there's a multi platform release of a online game I almost always buy it for the 360

I did forget one of the better Xbox 360 games out there.

    Mass Effect! badass game.

That's kind of what I was thinking also...the PS3 actually does have a pretty good amount of exclusives...

    :werd:

I think the reason that PS3 exclusives are usually good is exactly what you've stated...they've been able to focus exclusively on maxing out the potential of the PS3 rather then having to develop something that will run "well enough" on multiple platforms. The same would go for an Xbox exclusive too...

The demo was pretty awesome. I probably played through it at least ten times. The actual finished game is even better though. They definitely cleaned up the graphics a bit and added in more smoothing and effects, and that's pretty impressive considering the quality of the demo...
