Al Gore isn't smart enough to run something as brilliant as Google.

Al Gore is smart enough to find people who know what they are doing while he sits in his huge home and watches the money just rolllllllll on in.

lol nice headline.. "The search-engine giant has developed three technologies for offering wireless Internet access, and advertising, free of charge. Plus: London fights graffiti with cameraphones." lol way to keep similar stories together.

didn't enron revolutionize the entire market of energy and fuel. they created new accounting methods for business and sold wideband to customers.

eventually, if you have a little bit of everything, you have a lot of nothing. google is being held together with a few smart people. hopefully they don't spread themselves out so big they can't control it. that would be a huge hit if they collapse like that.

anyway, i wonder what kind speeds will be realistic? hopefully that means getting rid of crappy $25 aol dialup, $12 netzero with speed booster, etc...and in turn makes cable and dsl even cheaper..

SO am I in viloation of their copyright sharing my internet connection with my neighbor via my wireless ap ??

in any case I'd like to see the telco's responce to this, they seem to try and shut down any municipality that tries to provide free wifi to it's residents.

With WiMax they are going to have to address security here pretty quick if they want to make it for wide spread use. If not people will bitch and moan when there accounts are being accessed with there own usernames and passwords fraudently(sp).

I had an idea of putting a WiMax tower on top of every walmart. THink about it go partners with Walmart use them as your base of operations and you could cover 95% of the country. There is at least 1 walmart so that would equal about 25-30 miles if you had the right equitment. That and half of america goes to walmart as it is, so now they can get groccery's, home care products an oil changed and pay there internet bill. If I had a couple hundered thousand dollars laying around it would already be done.

Prototype the idea and let some dude buy it off you. That is more what I had in mind. Its just a crazy ass idea I highly doubt it would ever go any where at any point in time.
