Google tracks consumers across products, users can’t opt out - The Washington Post
this has already been on the iphone for over a year and change.
oddly, windows phone is the only one not doing anything like this yet.
I don't use my phone for much so it's not a huge deal to me, but it's still horse shit that you can't opt out to it.
Sucks for me... carrier IQ was the stealth way of tracking us... now that people are removing it from their phones google is just going to blatantly do it.
Im sure windows will eventually do the same thing. Its only a matter of time before you have to be tracked to do anything.
This is different from IQ. This is the phone OS and linked account, not the carrier, doing the tracking.
Just don't log in to your google account if you don't want to be tracked.
you pretty much have to on an android device.
As much as I disagree with this. Meh. I've assumed they've been doing this for a long time.
From reading it they only track people logged into their google accounts. OS doesn't matter. Unless you saw something in the article I missed?
Android devices require a google account login for activation and use.
iphone has been tracking for over a year, so, um, no.
