the req's for doom 3 are insane.

if you don't have 2gb of ram, 3+ ghz processor, or 256 pci-E nvidia graphics card, its going to look choppy. end of story.

bet same thing happens when halo 2 comes to pc
[post=424496]Quoted post[/post]

I doubt it. Halo 1 runs just fine on a standard PC, and both it and Halo 2 are designed to run on the exact same hardware- the XBox. You don't see a ton of people upgrading their XBoxes for Halo 2 do you? Unless M$ decides to run a crazy level of detail in the PC version of Halo 2 compared to the XBox, it will run just as well on a PC as the original Halo.

This makes perfect sense. I'd be surprised if they released a PC version at all, though, because the PC version of Halo 1 did so badly. Of course, they could have stood to make it a little fuckin SOONER.

most people dont know but halo was already done for PC they decided to hold it and make it exclusive to Xbox, then release the PC version.

btw runs fine on my 3.0 hyper threaded 1.5 gig ram geforce fx 5900 ultra :) soon to be liquid cooled ;)

Yeah, it runs fine on my PC too.

And liquid cooling is re-god-damn-diculous unless you're a hardcore overclocker. Or you like silent cooling solutions. What system are you using?

im a pretty serious pc user.. over clocked to 3.4 on a 2.8 chip serious heat coming from my shit..

that and my office sounds like a non stop jet taking off was going to do it last christmas... i just can't stand the constant loud white noise.. here's what im going with.

What do you plan on spending for the whole setup? That sounds like a pretty good deal goin on there. Also, where are you getting it?

Right now I have an AMD 2500+(1.83 Core speed) running at 2.3 core speed on air cooling. It's pretty effective, but I had to get a Thermalright SLK-800 heatsink and a Vantec Tornado 84CFM fan :p

it's about 300 roughly from newegg depending on what parts you leave out. obviously you dont really need the chipset and hard drive cooler but hell if your going to do it.. do it right the first time.. wont have to drain it and run new lines etc.

you can probably get the parts from price watch but no place has the cheapest on all so you'd have to get a few from diff places. With shipping it would probably cost just as much. Plus newegg has always been really good to me. I'm building my parnets a new pc 2.8 p4 for like 350 bucks lol so cant go wrong.. i hope
