i just changed the head on my 88 civic and for some reason it wont start and the gound wire is smoking when i cranck it over. i know that the engine is in time, and all the wiring is connected in there correct spots. i also put new sparkplugs in the head. any help would be nice.........

If the ground wire is "smoking", try touching it with a test light to see if actual voltage is present in the wire. If so, then you obviously did not wire something/multiple things correctly.

might have the starter wire and the ground on the thermostat housing mixd up or the wire from the housing and the fues box mixed up but deffinatly check with a test light cuz that will be a dead give away
