I bet that motor is in rough shape after sitting so long. Wouldn't be surprised if most everything has a light coating of rust.

I would be jealous if I didn't feel that this would get traded for an 86 Accord on cut springs in 6 months.

i know, that's exactly my point. lol you might decide you want some old piece of shit that you can beat on.

anyway, post up some good pics when you take it home and keep us updated. I'm actually really interested in this one. If i could get it for $500, i would consider it myself. it's just screaming for a b16 swap.

That car has a special place in my heart. Please do right by it because there aren't too many clean ones around my area anymore.

I'd check the motor before firing it over. Did you check to see if the crank moves? Seems silly to let a car sit that long because of a throw out bearing. I hope that's the only issue with the drive train. You got a great deal if that's the case.

Yeah I would defiantly pull the plugs and drop a little bit of ATF in the holes and just spin it over a few times to kinda clean/free up anything that might be a little stuck.

Or just fire it up and bounce the limiter for 8-13 minutes either way.

110% the engine and transmission are coming out before I even try cranking it (needs a throw out bearing come to find out) and gone over, I know obd0 and pre 0bd d-series upside down and backwards like the back of my hand (I should say palm :p) , as long as the a6 is still good than its probably going to stay stock af (I/H/E maybe) and just throw a set of coilovers on it to lower it 1.5/2 inches and daily the nuts out of it lol im excited to do some real paint restoration the clear coat doesnt APPEAR to be fucked , and im dilweed of course your going to get spammed with pictures

If the guy won't sell it, this is always a good fallback plan.
