what motor is the better of the two, for horse power and torque

If we're talking completely stock versus completely stock, then the H22 wins, hands down. It makes 200 horses and 160ish ft/lbs of torque compared to 170/130ish for the B18C1...

H22 ftw. Wish I woulda swapped one in my civic

We are running on dirt tracks we with a 92 prelude h-22 a with an automatic. I sold the car and was told the b18 might be a better motor for us on the dirt

Thinking on buying the same car but it will have a 5 speed tranny

I would stick with a H22 for the torque but that B18C will rev higher and possibly give better traction on dirt. Id go with the H22 w/lsd trans if it was me, but hey I wanted that in my hatch and built an LS VTEC instead.
