gasket material dude. A little patience and a ball peen hammer will save you a lot of time and trouble, not to mention money.

should be fun. the gasket paper i see is really hard.
i will check auto zone and pick some up
also picked up a stage 4 6 puck unsprung hub clutch and a 8 pound flywheel($$ permiting on flywheel)
the block and 1995 acord ex tranny should be in the car very soon.
everything in the engine will remain stock and i am using a $100 magen header and high flow cat combo..
very budjet for now. later on i will upgrade but i need to get up and running

finially recieved all of the parts and began putting in the short block and tranny into the car.
ran into a little problem tho.
i am using a 95 ex tranny into a cb7 and the cb7's tranny mount is different. i didnt have the 95 mount so i had to go and pick one up.
next week the engine + tranny will go in while i finish the intake manifold. i will put the head on later
i will post pics of the cylinder walls. their in great condition. so usdm 10:1 compression has to stay.
hopefully i will be up and to the dyno in 4 weeks

gasket paper is my friend
i will be using a two piece gasket
short block and tranny is in the car:D
sorting out some timing componets (auto tentioner to h23 )
cylinder head and the rest of componets will be on the car by next week.

ran into some problens with the short block.
engine was flooded with water in its previous life BUT never knocked
but i have a bent rod in cylinder #1 so a total rebuild is going on right
type-s pistons/f22 crank/rods+ rod bolts
alittle north of 12:1 compression
looks like its going to take alittle more time

i will keep you posted

Your telling me
i had the shortblock bolted up to the tranny and in the car.
all mounts in place and manuel tentioner conversion done.
when i went to set the engine to tdc (i dont know why i never checked it before:( )
thats when i noticed.
also for all you h22 guys you can use gsr rod bolts(arp) in the h/f rods.
i will be finished in about two weeks.
block is already at machine shop with pistons/rods etc.
with a high flow oil pump and coated bearings i should see 7500 rpm reliably maybe a burst to 8000 hear and their.
rpm capability here we come ,:D lol

i've had my stock h22a to almost 8000 rpm before. prolly about 78-7900 actually. granted you can't live there, but i have a stock engine and ecu.

werd. my prelude occassionally sees 8k, but it definitely doesnt live there. happened at the 1/4 cause i wanted to see if i got a better et by shifting the forth then by riding third for another couple rpms.

its good to know that stock stroke/rod bolt h22 are ok at 8000 rpms.
i am using a f22 crank and rods along with arp gsr rod bolts.
i wonder if that step up can handle 8000 also.
maybe a burst to 8500

yes bistec your are in the wrong thread.
post all of this info is the tech forum on the bottom of main page.

*%^#

well i am just waiting for parts.
i wondering what ecu to use. i was thinking on a chipped accord ex 95 ecu but i might go with hondata or crome. i am keeping the stock air box and exhaust for a couple of months along with the accord ecu and next summer i will open it up and switch everything around

i picked up a chiped p28 with a base map
the short block started going together today
crank and rods are installed. i am still waiting on a endyne oil pump
maybe christmas weekend i will put the engine in the car

I Finally got my oil pump from endyne.
hopefully i will be up and running in two weeks.
its been so fuc#ing long but the wait will soon be over.
the short block is already assembled
here is what i am running

h22a4 block
fresh oem bearings
type-s pistons
oem honda rings
f22 crank and rods
arp 9mm gsr rod bolts
endyne oil pump.
cosmetic .051 head gasket
should be safe to 8000 + rpms
chipped p28.
with the milled head the compression should be around 12.5:1

should be fun tuning with pump gas and factory cams:D

i FINALLY got my short block back yesterday and i did a inspection
i found a cracked aluminum oil pan:(
i will use jb weld to seal it.
i alsofinished the intake manifold, flattening the front webs in the upper and lower portion and i also removed the iab all together.
you can cut into that hollow web in the upper portion in order to flaten it out
i just sealed it up and my idle should be perfect.
their is alot of hp it the oem intake manifold if you port it out :D
i checked the machine shops bearing clearences and they all checked out.
i will bolt the flywheel and clutch together today and i will try for this weekend for final assembly and installation but i see snow falling right now so i dont know how it will go.
looks like this build will be a sucess
i will keep you posted when she fires up and what kind of hp it makes
i shooting for some respectable # thru the factory cat and exhaust and air box
(stealth mode:cool: )untill i fix my license:rolleyes:
