H22A Vs. KLZE

What's up everyone? I have buddy that owns an 95' Accord and a 93' Mazda MX-6 V6. He was thinking of doing a H22a swap into his Accord. But now, he's wants to swap a KLZE ( JDM ) into his MX-6. He want some a opinion on which motor will have the most potential? Basically, he want to know if a KLZE swap is better doing a H22a swap.

The USDM MX-6 V6 has only 160 HP with 160 lbs. of Torque, but the KLZE is the JDM MX-6 with 200 HP with 160 lbs of Torque. Its also a V6.

And everyone knows the H22a ( JDM ) has 200 HP with 163 lbs. of Torque.

So, is the H22a into a 95' Accord better than a KLZE swap into a MX-6, or is it the other way around?

I would go for the h22 just because I hate getting to spark plugs hidden right by the firewall. Transversely mounted v-type engines=

I'm going to go with... it's driver dependant.

I know some guys with KLZEs in their Escorts though... one ran in the 13s. :)

KLZE is short for "klazee HP, neegah!" It has 300cc over the H22, and more piston area, which means that it'll make more HP under boost.

:werd:

Displacement = good. The KLZE probably makes its power farther down the in the rev range than the H22.

I think it really all comes down to gearing, vehicle weight, and driving ability. Map out the power/torque curves against the gearing and vehicle weights and you can get an "ideal case" scenario about acceleration, then you can compare.

:p

mazda over honda... search around for the guy with the turbo v-6 probe... same motor... he put a T3/T4 on it.... :D.... that is all

Rode in both...Do the h22...Had a probe GT with the klze...Fun but not as fun as the h22...The klze is over rated believe me lol

was the klze swapped into that probe? if there was no swap involved the motor you weren't impressed with was the kl03, the US markets little brother to the klze... but yes, the kl03 is overrated.

Build a ZE swapped MX-3. It'll be fun. A LOT more fun than an H22 Accord, trust me. Low 15 second heavy Honda <<< high 13 second Mazda.

A friend of mine is building a 2.9L KLZE motor for his 94 Probe. I can't wait to see what that bastard'll run.

Oversized valves, overbored, stroked, using Eagle's GSR rods, 11:1 pistons, and a multiport fogger setup. OH, yeah. It's gunna rock... till the tranny eats itself.
