The part circled in RED was an ABS sensor. I got mad and ripped it out...great another $100+ bucks comming out of my pocket. Pieces of the CV, yea it just fell out. Doesn't that non existent wheel bearing and hub look great? And how about that gouged rotor. That's nice an peachy as well.
Where the hell are my goddamn parts. I need to get this spindle/hub over to the machine shop before they close so I can finish this shit today. I want my car back. :cry2:
these are some of the ugliest car parts I've ever seen. Half of that bearing assembly / hub is... gone. that rotor hasn' t seen a good brake pad since it was first machined, and was that ABS Sensor like that when you bought it ?
Believe me...I know they're terrible. The hub/bearing fell apart when I took it out. fell into pieces in my hands. I don't care, new parts are on their way and I think UPS dropped my shit off at the wrong house...2 seconds ago. The rotor has seen much better days. The ABS sensor was in perfect condition until it wanted to be a bitch and not come out...SO I ripped it out. WTF...UPS was here, but they didn't drop off MY packages, some other shit for my g-mother. I'm getting frustrated.
Oh well, to ease my frustration. I'm gonna hop on a 20 year old 10 speed bicycle and ride my way over to sears or napa to get a 7mm hex. It gives me something to do.
Well, I made it. I didn't do too bad either for a 6.5 mile each way ride stopping only at Napa and Sears. I guess I'm in better shape then I thought. I had to look stupid. Me on the bike with a cigarette in my mouth and I haven't rode a bike in 4 years so there was some swerving going on. http://www.mapquest.com/directions/main.ad...chung&2s=nj&2z=
So I rode my bike 12 miles for nothing, because I got the wrong size hex. LOL, it was fun and gave me something to do.
LOL that fuckin sucks. I know how you feel though befor i got my car or license i coldint get any on to give me a ride for the life of me or it was always not now, or i will take you tomarrow or fri or this week end. FUCK THAT Id wrather smoke my cig and ride the bike now.
I'm gonna do it again tomorrow. But it really doesn't bother me, the excercise doesn't hurt and if I had a better bike I'd ride it everyday acceptable distances. The bike is a real hunk of shit. I have the front brakes for it, but the spring is all fucked up so it rubs. Ehh, I'm not doing 40 mph, the rears will be fine. I almost died...I was riding and tried to hop a curb and the front wheel fell off., but that's because it's has quick release front wheel and I didn't tighten it. Live an learn.
So I finally got around to actually deciding to take the CV shaft out and stripped a couple of the allen head bolts on the inner joint, so it's probably not comming out today. I left my dremel and ALL f my vice grips in PA, so it'll be another bike ride to Sears/Wal-Mart for something to remove them. Ehh, it's good exercise.
Finally got the axle out... Had to cut the heads off the stipped allen socket bolts. Pissedoff style picture.
Ahh, the spindle/hub is ready to go back in. And it was worth riding with that 45lb fucker on my back. Looks a little better now, huh? Why am I still posting in this thread... because I can.
Cause I didn't have a car or feel like waiting for the bus because my axle was supposed to be there that day, but UPS sucks and then I find out they were backordered. BTW they sent me a front wheel bearing as well. That's what the other tracking number I got was for. But I now have a running, moving and driveable Audi once again. Total cost : Axle - $125 ABS sensor - $35 (I got an awesome deal) Bearing - $57 To have it pressed in - $44 Plus shipping for the axle and ABS sensor, so not too much under $300. Took long enoguh though.
