questions:
1. What would be needed to go from carb to fuel injection? is it worth it or are there options for staying carb'd and getting some decent hp. (100 hp or more)

2. i would like to do a mini - me setup but not sure what the best route to go as far as engine selection goes.

3. what would be the difference in the d16y8 block vs. the d16a6 block? (weight, ease of swap etc.)

since the 87 CRX HF is carbed, it doesn't use a pressurized fuel system - in order to convert to fuel injection, you would need the complete fuel system (tank, lines, pump, etc.) from the 1g CRX Si model which was fuel injected - you would also need practically all of the wiring from the 1g CRX Si in order to run the fuel injected engine

the 88 and up D-series engines like D16A6, D16Z6, D16Y8, etc. are not good candidates for a swap into the 84-87 CRX - they will not bolt into the 84-87 CRX/Civic chassis - all of the mounts are different - you would need to fabricate all new custom mounts - these engines also will not bolt to the 84-87 transmission - completely different bolt pattern - you would have to use the 88 and up transmission - you would need custom axles and custom shift linkage

this is an 84-87 engine - notice the location of the driver's side engine mount - on front of the engine, closer to radiator

this is the driver's side mount location on the 88 and up D-series engine

this is the passenger side transmission mount on the 84-87 CRX - off the bottom of the frame rail (kind of like the EG)
